Only £33 in Free Money in August 2022. Sniff, sniff. I have been away on holiday for most of the month and that inevitably shows on my earnings. I believe this is the lowest month on record since I started documenting my progress in this Blog. Two streams delivered earnings: bank rewards and cashback.
Santander is doubling casback on all direct debits due to the dramatic increase in the cost of living we have experienced this year. I am doubling my takings as a result from the usual £3 to a fabulous £5. Not a lot but it does help. It does the trick for me and no arguing here. Straight into the pot. Other than that, all remaining account contributors delivered as expected. £24 pounds in total is not a bad figure for just moving money around automatically.
Another £9 were made available for withdrawal from my Topcashback account. That is a hurrah because I met my £250 Objective from Cashback alone as a Free Money stream in 2022. Chances are, that I will cash another £120+ before the end of the year. Just great. For now, I was awarded with £5 from casual purchases and £4 more from courier services. Cashback box ticked.
£33 does not look like a lot but on the other hand, I have had the time to open a second bank account this year for an expected switch reward of £160. It did not materialize in August but I am confident that it will happen in September. On a different note, sales are a must now. I keep mentioning it post after post and I am letting myself down. No more excuses, I will start listing back again in September. I only have four months to deliver £300 from decluttering. It has to happen. Full stop. I feel upbeat at the £1,115 combined earnings for the year up to this point though. Just £85 away from another bottle of champaigne. Vamos.
