A total of £363 Free Money in October 2025 broken down as: £235 from Free Money Streams, £88 gained by the Free Cash Fund and £40 from interest payments delivered by the Stoozing Fund. Objective achieved for 2025. Not only that, I am sitting comfortably on £1,672 and everything I make for the remaining two months of the year will be a surplus alongside the £172 already banked. Surprisingly, I managed to deliver earnings from all my Free Money Streams which is something I have not had for quite a while, however, not all are good news I am afraid. I have had some ups and downs this month which are going to negatively impact my earnings in the short term. Let me elaborate.

Bank Rewards. Santander migrated my Lite account into a regular account with absolutely no warning. Reason I noticed was that I could not find any perks or cashback being paid when I looked at my statements. I did a little bit of digging and found a piece of news reporting that Santander was ‘streamlining’ his line of products resulting on Lite accounts being scrapped and migrated into regular Everyday accounts. Such was my case. Like I said, no notice or warning whatsoever and I am not impressed at all. As an alternative, their Edge Rewards Account attracts a £5 monthly fee making that proposition unatractive for just a mere £1 (if not a loss) profit a month. To top it all up, Halifax stopped cash rewards altoghether. Dire news for me in this department. From earning £20+ in January to just £6 in the blink of an eye and there are no serious reward accounts considering at this moment in time. I guess I am going to have to be patient and weather the storm.

Interest on Savings. Last day of October meant I transferred my £5,000 in personal savings to the Stoozing Fund. Good thing that I am growing the Stoozing Fund as planned but the downside is that I will no longer collect interest from personal savings until further notice. Anyhow, the tally shows £157 in 2025 (against an objective of £100) so I don’t feel all that sad about the transition. I will worry about it when the time comes to developing an earnings plan for 2026. For now, tick in the box.

Cashback. £65 cashback from spending activities using my AMEX credit card plus another £3 from my TopCashback account. Nothing particularly exciting or demanding from me. £722 from Cashback alone this year with two more months to go. Love this boring stuff.

Decluttering Sales. I made £25 net profit from 3 eBay sales. First, the shirt I sold in August and had returned in September was sold again (this time for good). Second, I switched Broadband providers and that left me with a redundant router. As it is traditionally the case, I flog all these hubs for a small profit rather than throwing them away. Third and last, was a pair of used toddler shoes that my little girl had grown out of. It took a while but they eventually moved for a modest profit of £2.

Promotions. Just when I was giving hope on finding a suitable bank switch promotion this year, the right one came knocking on my door. The Co-Op Bank put together a promotion where there are £175 up for grabs in 4 stages: £100 at first and then 3 monthly £25 cashback payments providing terms and conditions are met. I will elaborate fully on a separate post, but for the time being, I managed to get paid the first £100 on the 31st of October and hence, making it part of this month’s earnings. Happy with that.

Freebies. I made the executive decision of opening a Trading212 Account for two main reasons: 1) to consolidate all my Stocks & Shares ISA accounts into one single account and, 2) to gain control over where the moneys are invested (more on the subject in a future post). Not that I was fishing for it, but the added benefit was a random free share. After all hurdles were jumped, I was awarded with a share in Apple worth £11. Freebies are always welcome.

Summary. Right. Yet another year that earning objectives are met. Or nearly all of them. I know that I will not deliver £200 on bank switch promotions (I will make £150 at best). The other one is decluttering sales. I am at £364 or £136 behind a £500 target. I have a number of items for sale but they are just not shifting. Tough ask but not entirely impossible. Far from bothering me but I made a commitment to myself I have to strive to achieve. All that is good but at this moment, I will allow myself to enjoy the £1,672 I extracted out of the void. I am having a sip of my best golden label whisky. Cheers.
