£381 Free Money in December 2025 delivered as follows: £235 from Free Money Streams, £83 gains from the Free Cash Fund and £64 from interests accrued in the Stoozing Fund. Not too shabby at all. Second best month of 2025 behind July 2025 with £394. I mean is best to finish the year on a high by distancing myself away as much as possible from the £1,500 objective. As shown in the table above, I made a total of £2,115 Free Money in 2025 or £615 more than planned. Not a bad year but not my best either. I will examine these figures separately but as regards to December in particular, how did I do it?
Bank Rewards. £6 is my new baseline by default. Really disappointing takings at the moment. I will devise a plan to correct course in a more positive direction. For the time being, it is what it is.
Cashback. An unreal £140 cashback from my AMEX credit card. I am using the plastic for all my Christmas shopping and that shows in my cashback takings. I am not sure but this looks like an all time record for me in a monthly period. Mind due, I made £740-ish from my AMEX alone in 2025. Just great. Because I made the concious effort to buy all my Christmas presents in early November, I was also lucky enough to collect £13 cashback as transactions matured in my Topcashback account.

Decluttering Sales. I am giving a go at Vinted as a second marketplace to provide win an additional outlet for all surplus to requirement clothing items. I just got started by listing a few items and got pleasantly surprised to bag four sales totalling £23 in profits: Kids Blazer Jacket & Shirt( £11), Womens Jumper (£4), Girls Gillet (£3), Boys Trousers (£5). The main difference with eBay is that there are no selling fees attached to the transaction and posting is always paid separately and on top of the selling price. That is good one might think but the problem is that Vinted is a much smaller and niche marketplace and that reflects in lower selling prices. Anyway, happy to let all this clutter go and collect a small profit from it. A single sale from eBay also added £8 into the mix bringing the total for the month to £31.

Promotions. I was awarded with a second payment of £25 from the Co-Op Bank from the Switch Promotion offer I started back in October (see post The Co Operative Bank £175 Switch Promotion). The requirement is that I need to deposit a minimum of £1,000 and make ten or more debit card payments in the month. Task completed and reward credited. I need to repeat this process again in January 2026 to get the last £25 of the offer. I think I will.
Freebies. Last but not least, I referred my wife to Plum for her to apply for a Cash ISA. To my utter surprise, she did follow my advise by opening the account and transferring funds from another Cash ISA. The result is that I earned a £20 commision and she got a much better interest rate for her savings. Most delighful experience there is.
Summary. 2025 came and went. I can’t believe how fast time passes. In the realm of Free Money, it has been ok for me: I made £2,115 from Free Money Streams, £335 from the Stoozing Fund and the Free Cash Fund delivered £572 in gains. That is £3,023 from doing practically nothing. It is not the case that this money is going to have a massive impact in my lifestyle or my asset portfolio but I must admit that I am much better off having it than looking at an empty bank account. It is nearly £14,000 that came out of thin air by now, but you know what? This money is not supposed to be there and to me it does not exist. I am not going to buy myself a new fancy car or a nice holiday in the Caribbean. I am just going to put it away and see it grow. I have the feeling that the party is only starting. Join me if you really want to enjoy the fun.
